Set up with AI

Run Visual Sentinel from Claude or ChatGPT

Connect once, then ask in plain words to add sites, explain what broke and set up client reports.

Included with every paid plan. You sign in once and approve what it asks to do.

Connect in Claude

Add Visual Sentinel as a connector in Claude on the web or the desktop app. It takes about a minute.

  1. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors. On a Team or Enterprise plan an owner adds it in Organization settings, then Connectors.
  2. Click +, then Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Visual Sentinel and paste the server address:
    https://visualsentinel.com/api/mcp
  4. Keep the suggested sign-in settings and click Add.
  5. Click Connect and sign in to Visual Sentinel.

Connect in ChatGPT

Add Visual Sentinel to ChatGPT on the web with the same address and sign-in.

Not in ChatGPT's app directory yet. Until it is, add it yourself with these steps. What custom connectors can do depends on your ChatGPT plan.

  1. Open ChatGPT on the web. In a Business or Enterprise workspace, an admin may first need to allow custom MCP connectors (developer mode).
  2. Go to Plugins, click +, then Add custom MCP server.
  3. Name it Visual Sentinel and paste the server address:
    https://visualsentinel.com/api/mcp
  4. Choose OAuth for authentication, review the warning and click Create as a plugin.
  5. Install the plugin, then sign in to Visual Sentinel when asked.

Questions

Do I need a Visual Sentinel account?

Yes, for anything about your own sites. Connecting your account comes with every paid plan. A few free checks work without an account: SSL, DNS, page speed and a quick website check.

Is my data safe?

You sign in to Visual Sentinel in your own browser, so Claude and ChatGPT never see your password. You pick the workspace and whether the assistant can only look or also make changes. Disconnect it at any time in Workspace settings, under Developer access, and it loses access on its next request. What the assistant reads, like site names and incident details, appears in your chat, so your Claude or ChatGPT settings apply to it.

What can't it do?

Some things stay in the dashboard on purpose: plans and billing, inviting people, API keys, connecting Google or Cloudflare, sending a client report straight away, and deleting a status page or your workspace. Passwords, tokens and keys are set in the dashboard only: site sign-in details, and alert channels like Slack, PagerDuty or webhooks. That way they never sit in a chat.

I use Claude Code, Cursor or another tool. Does it work?

Yes. The MCP page has setup steps for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, VS Code, Gemini, Windsurf and other assistants.
