Content monitoring is the scheduled tracking of text extracted from public page HTML. It uses CSS selectors to target headings, prices, calls to action, legal disclaimers, and other visible text. Unlike visual monitoring, which compares screenshots, the content worker compares the selected text itself. It can record a changed price, rewritten headline, or newly injected visible text even when the layout looks similar. The worker uses the monitor's uptime interval, does not execute page JavaScript, and does not compare element attributes or the full DOM. When the configured rule is triggered, Visual Sentinel routes the alert through the eligible channels attached to that monitor.
