“We caught 3 outages in the first week that our old monitor missed.” — Eric D., Powered Storage
What Is Endpoint Monitoring?
Endpoint monitoring is the practice of continuously checking HTTP and HTTPS endpoints to verify they are reachable, responding correctly, and performing within acceptable thresholds. An endpoint is any URL that accepts requests — a website homepage, a REST API route, a GraphQL query endpoint, a webhook receiver, or a health-check URL used by your load balancer. If it has a URL and speaks HTTP, it is an endpoint that needs monitoring. Traditional uptime tools send a request and check whether the status code is 200. That catches total outages, but it misses everything else. A 200 OK response with an empty body, a valid page served over an expired SSL certificate, a DNS record silently pointing to the wrong IP, or a checkout page that loads but renders a blank white screen — all of these pass a basic status-code check while actively breaking the experience for your users. Endpoint monitoring tools need to go deeper. Visual Sentinel checks every endpoint across 6 distinct layers: uptime (is it reachable?), performance (how fast is it — DNS, TLS, TTFB, total?), SSL (is the certificate valid, correctly chained, and not about to expire?), DNS (are records resolving to the right IPs?), visual (does the page look correct compared to a known baseline?), and content (is the response body what you expect?). This layered approach means you do not need a separate tool for API monitoring and another for website monitoring. Whether you are tracking a marketing site, a SaaS dashboard, a payment webhook, or a microservice health endpoint, Visual Sentinel covers all of them in a single dashboard. Endpoints are checked every 60 seconds from multiple regions, with a full performance waterfall recorded for each request. When something breaks at any layer, you are alerted through the channel you prefer — email, Slack, Discord, Telegram, or WhatsApp — before your users notice the problem.
Multi-Region Checks
Endpoints are checked from EU and US regions. Compare latency across locations and catch regional outages that single-region tools miss.
60-Second Intervals
Every endpoint is checked once per minute. Detect downtime within 60 seconds and reduce mean time to recovery.
SSL & DNS Validation
Every check validates the SSL certificate chain and DNS resolution. Catch expired certs, misconfigured records, and silent DNS changes.
Performance Waterfall
See DNS lookup, TCP connection, TLS handshake, TTFB, and total response time for every check. Spot degradation before it becomes an outage.
10 Alert Channels
Get notified via email, Slack, Discord, Telegram, WhatsApp, webhooks, and more. Route critical alerts to the right team instantly.
API & Website in One Dashboard
Monitor REST APIs, GraphQL endpoints, webhooks, and full websites from a single interface. No separate tools or subscriptions needed.
